That is such a raw topic to be so honest about the way you are in this article. Even after we've gone through a great deal of healing, this comparison loop grabs one by the ankles every now and again. Shifting your perspective the way you describe is truly profound!
if 33 is mid-life, i am dead. if 33 is mid-life, the guy i fell in love with at 65 doesn't exist. i have never met anyone who "had everything". i think GWYNETH PALTROW DOES, ON AND OFF. I WENT TO HS WITH HER MOTHER. omg. honey, this isn't what you want to hear but have a martini and relax. you are an embryo.
Thank you for this post. I can really feel it deeply because I went through this comparison loop on Substack this summer and slowly started getting out of it.
We really cannot see our highest self without acquainting with our lowest
Love this perspectice and absolutely see myself in all of this! And so funny I should stuble upon this now, I just came home from a walk and finished it of determined that it was also the end of comparison, which have taken up so much of my mind lately ❤️
Oh my dear Brianne, thank you for this unexpected bundle of joy you dropped my way! How absolutely wonderful of you to celebrate other women, and even better, I had no idea I even made an impact! It’s been a crazy couple of weeks and once again life got in the way of my writing. So let me set you straight, you are certainly NOT the problem! You are human and every single one of us goes through the same thing. I’m beyond honored that you feel like I have my shit together because if you ever witnessed the conversations I have with myself in my head, it would be similar to what you described. Don’t let those numbers dictate your being because as high as they can make you, sometimes they’ll bring you to your knees. I have experienced it firsthand, like posting a live video and losing 10 subscribers in a minute. I was like wtf is wrong with me, do people not like me? My voice? My demeanor? That’s a rabbit hole I could chase for days. Then you see the notes with a random sentence getting like hundreds of likes and you wonder why your thoughtful note got a handful. Comparison is the thief of joy, but we do it because we’re human, it’s our nature. It’s definitely great to acknowledge and accept accountability because being self aware makes it easier to work on. I commend you for this because many people don’t get half as far as you do. Now about you not being enough? Omg girl? Your writing is amazing, your insights are spot on and you are GORGEOUS! So keep going and it will all align. I was ready to quit in February and I posted my rant post, it went viral and somehow I ended up where I am. Sending you big hugs, love and good vibes 🤗❤️💛
🥹🥹🥹 you’re so very welcome. What you did was so thoughtful and kind. And thank you for that beautiful sentiment, I love that I get to be the “real me” here on Substack and I love that people appreciate kindness. I am truly blessed to find women like you who are truly supportive and not threatening. You are a shining example of how we can all help each other grow while still carving out our own little niche. 🤗🩷
Natttttt!!!!! 😭😭😭🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 Omggg. Thank you so much for this incredible comment. Can I just say that I absolutely love you as a human being? This was so incredibly sweet and heartwarming- and I’m so glad that it resonated.
I know we’re all ‘here’ in our own ways, struggling and learning how to grow and move forward- which is precisely why I felt called to write this because I want other women to know that they aren’t alone in it. I’m here, you’re here, we’re all here from time to time and that’s okay.
But this was seriously the most beautiful response and I just appreciate you so much! Thank you 💓🫂
The line about the algorithm punishing consistency right when you finally believe in it that’s the part that got me. It’s almost like the platform mirrors the psychology back at you.
THIS! This right here! The universe will always be teaching us lessons 😅 I guess the question is- how bad do we want it? Is our dream worth continuing to show up even if no one is listening or applauding? Pairing consistency with patience is key I believe.
You are so wonderful. As I read this essay, I see a transition of how you were going from "I may not feel enough" to "I choose to celebrate other women". That is beautiful.
There is a deep resilience in your willingness to see the good and positive in others and yourself. That makes me want to CELEBRATE YOU!
and thank you so much for including me in your list, you are so sweet, and I'm absolutely honored.
I have had all these feelings too!! Its funny how you can feel so good and so sure of what you're doing and as soon as there is a lull its like omg I suck, I need to change, look at everyone else doing better than me. Definitely get this!! And thank you so much for including me on the list 🤍🤍🤍
What a powerful reframe in this post to go from comparison to celebration, Brianne. The rawness in your discovery is super honest and relatable as women!
Also, it was soooo wild to see myself on this list today. I literally spent last night feeling so sad, and I've been fighting to keep my eyes open at work today! I had a hard conversation with a loved one and was feeling extremely less than perfect.....
We always put the best of ourselves out there, but everyone has their doubts and struggles. Fortunately, that's what makes each of us so extra magical. ✨
Girl- you are so welcome. I’m glad it helped to lift you up when you were feeling so sad 🥲🥹🫶🏻 It’s a reminder that you never know who is watching- and you are crushing it. Sending lots of love your way!
I genuinely don’t think anyone in this world has it all, just parts they show. But love the peice 😊❤️
so relatable!! <3

I think so many more of us are here than we realize! I’m glad it resonated and I’m proud of you for recognizing the need to set this down 🫶🏻
Comparison can devoid us of all happiness! I enjoyed reading it, it’s relatable 😊
💯% the more that we can disconnect from watching others and instead focus solely on our own journey- the better!
Absolutely 💯
All of this was soo relatable! Such a great read.
Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to comment. I truly appreciate it! 🥹
Fantastic! I love that I’m already following most of these great ladies.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment 🥹💓
The comparison game is the worst! I’m glad you’re slowly pushing through it!
It is the biggest thief of joy and probably the most annoying one 🙈 Interesting enough, writing this out helped to shift so much for me.
I feel that setting my pride down to admit where I was, helped me connect to so many more women who are in the same place, feeling the same way.
Here’s to the upward spiral instead 🫶🏻

I appreciate your words Grecia! Being able to transition from the anchor to the kite is precisely where growth takes place 🫶🏻
I’m choosing to fly, no matter how uncomfortable it might be, and I thank you for being part of my inspiration 🥰
LOVE THAT!!!

Literally this 🙈 We’re all on the exact same journey together. Glad you get it 😅 And you are so welcome- loving what you’re up too!
oh wowwww. this was everything. thank you so mich for writing this, and how surreal to see my name there. it actually means the world 💌🤧
You are incredibly welcome Sofia! Loving everything you’ve been up to lately 🫂 xx
