We’ve been through something similar. My husband and I — we had to declare failure, even though the business was actually successful. The circumstances, especially the pandemic, changed everything.
It’s a strange place to be in… knowing it wasn’t a lack of capability, but still having to face the consequences of it collapsing. We also have 2 kids and when you wrote about being depressed and burnout I deeply can relate to this.
What’s interesting is that out of that, something completely unexpected opened. We had an acquaintance in Saudi who said, “why don’t you come here?”After many no’s, confusion, and learning how this culture works — we’re finally starting to hear yes.
And despite all the uncertainty, there’s a strong feeling that we really want to make this work here. The energy and you attract what you put out there. Looking forward to read the next part. Xx
While I’m glad that it resonated, I am also sorry that you’ve had to go through and experience the same thing. It’s incredible what that opens up inside of you to be healed. I’m glad you’re finding something to pull you forward 💗🫂
Thank you for sharing this — I really resonated with your perspective.
I’ve come to a similar realization myself: before anything “effortless” can happen, you have to clear a lot of your own internal patterns and wounds. But at the same time, I’ve experienced moments that felt like quiet confirmations — small signs that something is shifting when you’re in the right energy.
Some of them happened when I was in deep distress, others when I was simply curious and open — and there have been too many to completely dismiss.
I also agree that just sitting in a lotus position and smiling won’t change anything. In my country, we have a saying: “Help yourself, and God will help you.”
And yet… there’s still this quiet feeling that we’re not doing it all alone. That something might be supporting the path, even through the harder parts.
I actually wrote a short piece about my own experience with this — more as a personal experiment than a statement.
Ego death, man. So happy you’ve found a sense of north and are sharing it !!!
They are the most pivotal moments for growth, I tell ya what!
I really felt this.

Even if you're not spiritual, the concept of facing your inner demons to be able to grow remains true in every sense.
